A Home Of Our Own by Jacqueline Stephenson
After my college graduation I decided to buy myself a little present that I knew I was going to love enjoy a condo. I had just gotten my teaching degree had recently started working my dream job at a great school wanted to really immerse myself in adulthood. I wanted to be able to decorate my new place buy adult furniture. I was so excited to get away from college dorms that offer little space many roommates So I did what I wanted to bought a condo. Though most of the rooms were empty at first I did not care because I was so happy.
It was not long after that I decided to go back to school to obtain my master's degree in education. I went back to the University of Houston in Houston Texas was surprised when I not only got a degree but also got a husband. Brian I met at the university married in July of 2006. We decided that the condo would be a great place to start our life together so that's just what we did. It was cost efficient as well. I could afford the monthly mortgage on my salary alone so that allowed us to save Brian's salary accumulate a nice nest egg.
It didnt take too long we discovered we were going to be parents. I loved setting one of the bedrooms up as a nursery soon our daughter was born. Ill always treasure the memories of her first steps in our cozy living room with Brian me cheering her on. She was startled at first but then gave us the most beautiful mostly toothless smile we had ever seen Its a smile I dont think either of us will ever forget.
We completed our master bedroom finished decorating the room for our princess Brian I had turned our third bedroom into an office that Brian I could share. I couldn't pray for anything else. Life was great we were just so blessed. We had worked hard to get our finances in order our condominium was finally paid off. But then we received some more news we were going to be having another baby Our hearts were so full so happy. God was really showering the blessings on us.
With my master's degree in my hand fast growing kids my wonderful husband it time for us to take the next step upgrade our home. We need something with more space a yard. The condo is completely paid off will give us a nice down payment on a new home once we sell it. Though I am extremely excited about moving I am certainly going to miss the condo where my life as an adult as a wife began. I have a lot of wonderful memories in my condo from our first Christmas to birthday parties to special moments in our kids' lives. But we will take all of those memories with us.
Moreover it time for us to move let someone else have the chance to be blessed as we were. It is time to let someone else create share great memories in that condo. Saying goodbye won't be easy but we will be saying hello to a new stage in our lives that is exciting.
